Employee assistance programmes...
Free State Care in Action recently entered a new
field when the organisation became involved in assistance programmes for
employees of firms in the corporate sector. This initiative arises from the
organisation’s need to add value to firms that have financially supported Free
State Care in Action. This service is currently offered to two firms in
Bloemfontein.
Counselling is provided to employees experiencing family and personal problems.
In this way, Free State Care intends to not only make a contribution towards
improved social functioning of employees, but indirectly also to improving their
adjustment and productivity in the workplace.
The following topics form part of the life skills programmes presented to groups
of employees:
- Interpersonal relationships
- Financial management
- Dealing with conflict
- Self-concept development
- Alcohol and drugs
- Prevention of HIV/AIDS
- Preparation for retirement
